Laravel Forge vs Serversinc

Forge sets up a PHP stack on your server and runs a deploy script. Serversinc runs every app as a container, whatever it's written in.

What Laravel Forge is, and what Serversinc is

Both get your apps running. Here is how each one does it.

Laravel Forge provisions a server with Nginx, PHP, a database and Redis, then deploys each site by running a deploy script on the box. It supports Laravel, PHP, Node.js, Next.js and Nuxt, with zero-downtime deploys on a single server. Plans are flat: $12, $19 or $39 a month.

Serversinc manages the server and runs your applications as containers. A Laravel app, a Node service and a Go binary deploy the same way: build from GitHub or pull an image, check health, then swap. You pay £5 a month for your first three servers and £2 for each after.

What the bill looks like

Forge Hobby is $12 a month for one external server. Growth is $19 and Business is $39, both with unlimited servers.

Both are good tools. Pick the one that fits.

Where each one is the stronger choice, stated plainly.

Pick Laravel Forge if

  • Your apps are PHP or Laravel and you want them on Nginx and PHP-FPM, not in containers.
  • You deploy from GitLab or Bitbucket.
  • You run 20 or more servers and want one flat price.
  • You want Laravel VPS servers provisioned in seconds.

Pick Serversinc if

  • You run PHP next to Node, Go, Python or anything else in a container.
  • You want a failed health check to stop a release before traffic moves.
  • You want volume backups as well as database backups, in a bucket you own.
  • You run fewer than ten servers and want the bill to follow the fleet.
