Storage providers
Connect an S3-compatible bucket that backups are written to.
Backups upload from your server directly to an S3-compatible bucket that you own. Add a storage provider before you create a backup or schedule.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”Create a bucket with an S3-compatible provider. Have the endpoint, region, bucket name, access key, and secret key ready. If you want Serversinc backups under a dedicated path, choose a prefix as well.
The credential needs read, write, and delete access to the bucket. Restores read from it, and retention deletes from it.
Add a storage provider
Section titled “Add a storage provider”- Open Settings → Providers.
- In Storage providers, add S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, DigitalOcean Spaces, or a custom compatible endpoint.
- Enter the endpoint, region, bucket, and optional prefix.
- Enter the access key and secret key.
- Save the provider. Serversinc checks the connection when you save.
The secret key is write-only. Serversinc doesn’t show it again.
Confirm backups can use it
Section titled “Confirm backups can use it”Check that the provider shows as verified. Then create one manual backup and follow it to completion.
If verification fails, compare the endpoint and region with the provider’s S3 documentation, then check bucket permissions and credential scope.
A storage provider cannot be deleted while a backup still references it. Move or delete the dependent backups first, then remove the provider.
