Server health and metrics
Host resource data and the hardening checks Serversinc runs on each server.
Monitor resources
Section titled “Monitor resources”Open a server and choose Metrics to see the host’s CPU, memory, disk, and network history. Metrics are host-level. They don’t include request-level application data; use the application and container views for that.
Investigate a resource insight
Section titled “Investigate a resource insight”- Open the insight and note its subject, threshold, and time window.
- Open the affected server’s Metrics tab around the same time.
- Check deployments, backups, and commands that ran in that window.
- Fix the cause. If the signal is expected for that server, mute the alert for that server and add a custom alert with a threshold that fits it.
Check and improve server health
Section titled “Check and improve server health”Open the server’s Insights tab to review common host settings, including:
- Direct root login over SSH
- Automatic package updates
- Fail2Ban
- Time synchronisation
- Firewall status and open ports
Read what Serversinc found before you apply a change. Disabling root SSH login or turning on the firewall changes how you reach the server.
Some checks have a fix you can apply from the dashboard. Others only report. A check shows Unknown when the agent hasn’t reported enough data to change it safely. Wait for the next report before you change anything.
After you change a setting, the check updates on the next report. If the setting is correct on the machine but the check doesn’t update, check that the server is still reporting.
