Notifications
Send Insights findings to email, Slack, or a webhook.
A notification channel is a named destination for insights. Serversinc supports three types:
- Email: sent to an address you provide. The address must be confirmed before it is active.
- Slack: posted to an incoming webhook URL.
- Webhook: an HTTPS request to a URL you provide, with an optional secret.
Set up a channel
Section titled “Set up a channel”- Open Settings → Channels.
- Add a channel and give it a name.
- Enter the destination details:
- For email, enter an address you can confirm.
- For Slack, create an incoming webhook and paste its URL.
- For a webhook, enter an HTTPS endpoint and optional signing secret.
- Save the channel. Serversinc verifies it:
- An email channel gets a confirmation link. The channel stays Unverified until you open it.
- A Slack or webhook channel gets a test message.
A channel that fails verification, or later can’t deliver, shows Failed with the reason. Check its status when an expected notification doesn’t arrive.
Route alerts to channels
Section titled “Route alerts to channels”Creating a channel does not subscribe it to every event. Open the channel and add the alerts that should notify it. When one of those alerts raises an insight, Serversinc sends it to every channel attached to that alert.
If an insight appears in Serversinc but no message arrives, check that the channel is verified, attached to that alert, and not Failed.
