Provision from a provider
Have Serversinc create and prepare a server on a supported cloud provider.
Provisioning creates a machine in your cloud account and then prepares it as a Serversinc server. The provider continues to own the machine and charge for it.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”Add a provider key under Settings → Providers. The key needs enough access to list available regions and sizes, create a server, and manage its lifecycle. See Infrastructure providers for the supported provider types.
Provision the machine
Section titled “Provision the machine”- Open Servers.
- Select Provision server.
- Choose the provider, region, and size.
- Enter a server name and choose its environment. The environment is a label; it doesn’t change the server size or provider billing.
- Start provisioning.
Provisioning has two parts. First the cloud provider creates the machine. Then Serversinc connects to it and prepares the Docker environment used by your workloads. Keep the server page open to follow the current status.
Confirm the server is ready
Section titled “Confirm the server is ready”A ready server appears in the server list with an address, provider, location, and the Active status. Open it and check that the Overview and Metrics tabs show a recent report.
A stale or offline status means Serversinc hasn’t received a recent report. The machine may still be running.
If the server stops reporting, see When a server stops reporting.
